Local BBB Selected as one of the Best Nonprofit Organizations to Work For 2012

Local BBB selected as one of the Best Nonprofit Organizations to Work For 2012

BBB recognized for commitment to excellence in the workplace

AUSTIN, Texas - Apr. 13, 2012 –
BBB serving Central, Coastal, Southwest Texas and the Permian Basin was recently selected as one of the Best NonProfit Organizations to Work For 2012 by The NonProfit Times and Best Companies Group.

This nationwide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in the nonprofit industry, benefiting the industry's economy, its workforce and businesses. The Best NonProfit Organizations to Work For 2012 list is made up of 50 organizations.

“It is an honor to be recognized by our employees for the second year in a row as having such a positive work environment,” said Carrie A. Hurt, BBB president and CEO. “Their dedication to helping businesses and consumers has certainly carried over to making BBB a fun and energetic place to work.”

Organizations from across the nation entered the two-part process to determine the Best NonProfit Organizations to Work For 2012. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated organization's workplace policies, practices and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation.

The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top organizations and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in the United States, analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
