Better Business Bureau is again warning consumers about AB Appliance Repair in Corpus Christi, Texas, after receiving more than a dozen complaints about the company. BBB first issued a release about the appliance repair company in May 2011.

Better Business Bureau has received numerous complaints from across the country about two websites based in Leander, Texas — art-heist.com and hollywoodframed.com. Consumers allege they ordered art and frames from Hollywood Framed and Art Heist, but either never received their orders, received the wrong order or received a product far inferior to the one advertised online. Many alleged the company did not respond to their calls or emails pertaining to delivery of the product ordered or refunds.

In the last few months, Better Business Bureau has received complaints from consumers across the country about Texas-based Soundwave Cruises. Consumers allege they paid Jacob Dominguez, the company’s owner, thousands of dollars for cruises, and then received notification that those cruises were overbooked or cancelled. Though Dominguez promised quick refunds, some are still waiting for their money.

A new scam suggests the federal government will help pay your electric bill to help curb the high utility costs many Americans are incurring this time of year. But instead of financial relief, victims could be left with a stolen identity and an empty wallet.

Better Business Bureau recently received reports of a possible scam targeting businesses near military depots and installations. Business owners have said they were contacted by a company selling ads in a “CFNR Guide” or a “Referral Guide” to soldiers moving into the area.

Threats of arrest, lawsuits and unending harassment seem to fill the playbooks of Central Asset Bureau, a debt collection agency in San Antonio. Better Business Bureau is issuing a warning to consumers after receiving numerous complaints about the company’s debt collection tactics. Most of the consumers allege the debt Central Asset Bureau is attempting to collect is not even valid.
